Jonesboro - Colonel USAF Retired Dr. Friedrich Edward Stoll, 89, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at St. Bernard's Medical Center. He was born February 15, 1925 in Jonesboro to the late Fred and Marjorie Stoll. He proudly served United States Army, Navy and was a colonel in the Air Force. He attended Arkansas State University, Tulane University and Washington University in St Louis. He practiced medicine in Arizona, Nevada and was chief resident in radiology at John's Hopkins University. He enjoyed riding horses, tennis, raising cattle, playing golf, music, skiing, swimming. He spoke three foreign languages, was a private pilot, member of the AMA, Jonesboro Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution and Los Altos Hunt Club. He was also instrumental in building the first museum at Arkansas State University. He was preceded in death by a host of family, friends and colleagues. A celebration of his life will be 2:00 pm Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Reed officiating. Burial to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery with military honors. Friends will gather from noon until time of service Saturday at Gregg Langford Bookout Funeral Home at 300 W. Matthews Ave. in Jonesboro.
