Freddia Gail Baxter, 78, of Jonesboro, died December 19, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
She was born October 29, 1941 in Cash, Arkansas to the late Fred William and Zelpha Lee (Hudson) Boyd.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Carl Baxter of Jonesboro; daughter Carmen Baxter of Glen Allen, VA; son and daughter -in-law William and Tracy Baxter of Cabot; grandson Aidan Baxter of Cabot; brother and sister-in-law Jerome and Norma Boyd of Jonesboro; "sister" cousin and her husband Lila Joy and Bill Allen of Olive Branch, MS; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Gail was a member of the church of Christ. Her interest in family history for the past 42 years resulted in her membership in the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Arkansas Pioneers. As an Air Force wife, she lived not only in Arkansas but Georgia, California (twice), Mississippi, and Louisiana. She was a loving wife and mother and will be dearly missed by her family.
Visitation for family and friends will be Monday from 11a.m. to 1p.m. at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home, 300 W. Matthews in Jonesboro. No funeral services are planned. Private burial will be held later at Johnson Cemetery in Cash.
