Obituary

Franklin Tribble, 82, of Pocahontas, entered his heavenly home peacefully on Monday, January 5, 2026, at his residence.

Franklin was born on October 28, 1943, in Hickory Ridge to the late Clarence and Bertha Jackson Tribble. He was a high school graduate and a lifelong brick mason, owning and operating his own company for more than 60 years. During the 1970s, he proudly served his community as a member of the Pocahontas Police Department under Chief Earnest Bruton and as an EMT for Randolph County.

Franklin was a devoted member of the First Assembly of God Church in Pocahontas. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but nothing brought him greater joy than his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were truly the loves of his life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Maynola Miller, Lola Mae Holt, Charlene Bristow, and Aleene Stillwell.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wanda Matthews Tribble of the home; a son, Terry (Laura) Tribble of Pocahontas; a daughter, Rhonda (Lance) Hayes of Pocahontas; grandchildren, April (Eli) Canard of Pocahontas, Paige Tribble of Pocahontas, Coty (Brandy) Vandergriff of Pocahontas, and Josef McCann of Jonesboro; and great-grandchildren, Ben Prevo, Logan Prevo, Maci Canard, Bentley Vandergriff, Hunter Vandergriff, and Jaxson Vandergriff.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Terry Miller. All services will be held at First Assembly of God Chruch in Pocahontas, with burial to follow at Randolph Memorial Gardens.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Terry Tribble, Paul Prevo, Coty Vandergriff, Eli Canard, Michael Nunnally, and Derek Kildow.

Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren.
