Obituary

Concord, NC- Frankie Junior Britton, 82, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 11, 2013. He was born on October 25, 1930 in Fontaine, Arkansas to the late Frank and Alma Britton. Bud worked for many years with BB Vance Construction. He was a former mayor of Sedgwick and was a member of the Sedgwick Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Britton; a daughter and her husband, Becky and Bob Coln of Concord, NC; a sister, Imo Gene Mangrum of Cherokee Village; three grandchildren and their spouses, Jason and Kecia Coln of Mt. Pleasant, NC, Celena and Heath Shumaker of Harrisburg, NC and Amanda and Mitch Queen of Concord; six great-grandchildren, Dylan Coln, Savanah Coln, Hannah Shumaker, Emma Shumaker, Jake Queen and Nate Queen. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Hugh Britton, Walter Britton, Floyd Britton, Gene Britton; five sisters, Eunice Dunham, Lois Scott, Lola Dacus, Mary Fielder and Jesse Tilley. A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Old Military Cemetery near Sedgwick with Rev. Thomas Lamb officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home at 300 W. Matthews Ave., Jonesboro.
