Jonesboro- Mrs. Frances Sample Pardew, 91, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at St. Elizabeth's Place. She was born March 20, 1923 in Earle to the late John Hamilton and Nona Merle Brown Sample and lived most of her life in Jonesboro. She worked for many years at Pardew's Department Store and retired after many years working at Bank of Nettleton and Regions Bank. Mrs. Pardew was a longtime member of the Nettleton Baptist Church and the Fidelis II Sunday School Class. She enjoyed playing bridge and spending time with her family, The 21st Century Club and The Arts Study Group. She is survived by two sons, Ambassador James W. Pardew Jr. and his wife, Kathy of Fairfax Station, VA and John Pardew of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Colonel Paul Pardew (Kelly) of Centre Ville, VA, Jon Pardew (Lesley) of Castle Pines, CO, David Pardew of Lorton, VA, Mandi Riley of Oklahoma City, OK and Jake Pardew of Houston, Texas; great-grandchildren, Josh Pardew, Virginia Ann Pardew, Samantha Pardew, Marshall Pardew, William Pardew, Jackson Pardew, Korie Blue and Kinlee Riley; nieces, Debbie Pardew Barnett, Donna Holladay Pardew and Janet Mitchell and a nephew, Jack Flanders. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James W. "Dub" Pardew, Sr. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Nettleton Baptist Church with Dr. Stan Ballard officiating under the direction of Gregg Langford Bookout Funeral Home. There will be no visitation. The family requests lasting memorials to the Nettleton Baptist Church.
