Obituary

Floyd Fred Cooksey, 83, of Jonesboro, passed away Sunday October 6, 2013 at Twin Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born November 5, 1929 in Jonesboro to the late Fred Cooksey and Ida Adams Buttry. Mr. Cooksey was a retired mechanic and was of the Baptist Faith. He loved being in the outdoors fishing, hunting and camping. He will be remembered as a loving Husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include two sons, Gene Cooksey and wife Patricia of Lake City, and Mike Cooksey of Jonesboro, two daughters, Freda Henderson and husband Lynn of Williford and Judy King of Trumann, brother, Dale Buttry and wife Betty of Mt. Home, fourteen grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren. Mr. Cooksey is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary, two sons, Steve and Tonny Cooksey, one brother, Bob Tolbert and two great grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday October 9, 2013 at Pine Log Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Thompson officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 at Gregg Langford-Bookout Funeral Home 300 W. Matthews Ave. Jonesboro.
