Jonesboro- Florence Louise McLaughlin, 78, passed away, Monday, July 23, 2018 at Flo \u0026 Phi Jones Hospice House.
She was born February 13, 1940 in Egypt to the late Bennie and Stella Hinley McGinnis. She was a mother, homemaker and a caregiver most of her life but had also worked at Arkansas Linen. She enjoyed eating out, shopping, singing at church and traveling. Florence loved her Lord, Jesus Christ, her family and her church family at Brookland United Methodist Church. She will be remembered as a very loving caring person and a simple spoken person that got right to the point.
She is survived by her husband, Billy G. McLaughlin; children, Cathy Whitney of Pensacola, FL, Teri Williams of Poplar Bluff, MO, Joyce King (Brian) of Brookland, Gary Allen (Rita) and Jamie Stewart (David) all of Jonesboro; brothers, Robert McGinnis and Carl McGinnis (Debbie) all of Jonesboro; a sister, Faye Shaw (Ken) of Jonesboro; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Taylor McGinnis, James McGinnis, Larry Wayne McGinnis and R. L. McGinnis; sisters, Ella Futrell and Brenda Brown; a son-in-law, Edward Williams; grandsons, Jason Williams and Brett Williams.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
A celebration of her life will be 10:00 am Friday, July 27, 2018 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home with Roger Hutcheson officiating. Interment will follow at Old Enterprise Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Trevor Williams, Justin Allen and Dave Stewart and as honorary pallbearers, Scott Kelly and Donald Mink.
