Florence Mae Grissom, 90, of Maynard, passed away Friday, October 23, 2020 at Five Rivers Medical Center.
She was born August 8, 1930 in Pocahontas to the late Hite and Earnestine Sutton Smith.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin Franklin Grissom; sisters, Isabelle Penn, Helen Ragan, Elouise Hufstedler and Linda Smith; brothers, Frankie Smith, Harold Smith, Junior Smith, and Norman Smith; grandsons Terry Lincoln and Matthew Grissom; son-in-law, Jerry Glisson; and great-granddaughter Ashton Martin.
She is survived by her daughters, Janice Glisson and Carolyn Lincoln both of Maynard; sons, Dennis Grissom of Paragould and Gary Grissom of Ravenden Springs; 8 grandchildren, Stacey, Theresa, Sammy, Gary, Jason, Kym, Julie, and Lori; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Lillie Dearlove and Sue Bunch.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 1-3 with services at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Ligie Waddell Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Sutton Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Sammy Glisson, Gary Glisson, Jason Glisson, Austin Glisson, Casey Glisson, and Kyle Glisson.
To follow the directives of Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, masks covering the mouth and nose are required for all persons in Arkansas for all indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to non-household members where social distancing cannot be assured. Those attending will also be asked to sign a contact registry and maintain a social distance.
