Fern Geraldine "Jean" Nicholson, 99, of Pocahontas departed this life on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving grandsons.

Jean was born on June 22, 1926, in Worthington, Indiana to the late William E. Cullison and Lena Scrogham Cullison. With her husband, Jim, she owned several businesses and retired as a property manager.

In her younger years Jean loved camping and lead several camping groups. Over the years she enjoyed spending time with her family and caring for her dogs. She was also an avid bowler and continued well into her nineties and never missed her favorite teams playing baseball.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lena Cullison; husband, James "Jim" L. Nicholson; children, Vickie M. Yaeger, Paul Shanks, and Valerie McCoy; grandson, Derek Basch; siblings, Dale Cullison, Norm Cullison, Lucille Thompson, Betty Talley, Barbara Lent, and Elmer Cullison.

She is survived by her brother, Robert Cullison; children, Mark (Dorothy) Nicholson; grandchildren, Tracy Weaver, Trevor Weaver, Darrin Weaver, Khariza Shanks, Gabriel Shanks, Shann Shanks, Alicia Geskey, James Nicholson, and Dustin Nicholson along with numerous great grandchildren, other family and friends.
