Faris Don Lassiter, 70, of Jonesboro, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026. Born October 28, 1955, to the late Harmon Victor “Buck” Lassiter and Jessie Marie Wise, Faris spent his life rooted in the community he loved.

A lifelong resident of Jonesboro, Faris graduated from Nettleton High School in 1973. He worked for years at Forrest Office Machines and Xerox. He served as a reserve policeman and firefighter, always willing to step forward when his community needed him.

Faris was an avid bluegrass player and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and video gaming. Some of his happiest moments were spent watching his grandsons play sports. His life was full of simple joys, shared hobbies, and time spent with the people he cared about most.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Lassiter, of the home; two sons, Joshua Bruce (Tiffany) Lassiter and Jarrod Don (Shelley) Lassiter, both of Jonesboro; his sister, Kayleene Lassiter Keith of Jonesboro; sisters‑in‑law Helen Lassiter, Eva Lassiter, and Patti Price; and six grandchildren, Ashton, Sarah, Bryson, Lucas, Riley, and Dakota, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Larry Lassiter, Lonnie Lassiter, and Jason Lassiter, and one sister, Marie Hahn.

Services will be held Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Gregg‑Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Rick Lassiter, Gary Lassiter, Josh Lassiter, Jarrod Lassiter, Bryson Lassiter, Luke Lassiter, and David Sator.
