Mrs. Euin Lallion Barrier, of Harrisburg, departed this life Sunday morning, July 21, 2013, at the Woodbriar Nursuing Home in Harrisburg, at the age of 97. She was born February 23, 1916 in Waterloo, Alabama, the daughter of Amie Zackry Franklin and Rachel Matilda Shepard Franklin. She married Dueward Glynn "D.G." Barrier on March 5, 1933 and they enjoyed 65 years together before his death in 1998. Mrs. Barrier, formerly of Savannah, TN, retired from the Food Service Department at ASU in 1982 and moved back to her home area. She remained in the Savannah area until 2005, when she moved to Harrisburg. She loved to sew and make quilts and loved spending time with her family. She was a member of the Harrisburg Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, three sons, Donnie Barrier, Billy Barrier and James Barrier, and eleven siblings. She is survived by three daughters, Delena Ware, Eva Hooker and Wanda Lee, all of Harrisburg, one son, Dueward "J.R." Barrier of Natural Bridge, NY, 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Friends in the Harrisburg area may visit at Gregg-Weston Funeral Home in Harrisburg Monday evening, 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. Following visitation, she will be moved to Shackelford Funeral Home in Savannah, TN. Visitation there will be Tuesday evening, 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. and services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Shackelford Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Walnut Grove, TN. Local arrangements are under the direction of Gregg-Weston Funeral Home of Harrisburg. Those wishing to send memorials are asked to consider the American Cancer Society.
