Pocahontas - Eugene "Gene" C. Allen, 87, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012 at the VA Hospital in Poplar Bluff. Born September 30, 1924 in Supply to the late Cecil and Oral Allen. He is also preceded in death by one sister. He is survived by wife Doris Allen of the home, daughter Vickie Barker and son Andy and wife Dee Allen all of Pocahontas. Grandchildren include: Laura and husband Darrell Glover of Cabot, Devin Barker of Jonesboro, Alexa Allen and Braden Allen both of Pocahontas and great granddaughter Morgan Glover of Cabot. Sister Rita Odom, also lifelong friend Doug Cousins. Special thank you to Karen Kellett for all of the services she provided during Doris and Allen's sickness. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Darrell Fears officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.
