Jonesboro- Etta Lee Trosper, 91, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at St. Bernards Medical Center.
She was born April 19, 1930 in Lake City to the late William John and Gladys Woods Roberts. She was a homemaker and the matriarch of the family. Mrs. Etta was famous for her chocolate gravy, chicken and dumplings, garden and her canned goods. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
She is survived by her daughters, Diana Richards of Jonesboro and Fran Trent (Steve) of Latham, Kansas; two sisters, Maxine Stokes and Anna Bowers; a brother, James Roberts; eight grandchildren, Angie Garner (Andy), Laura Mills (Joe), Carlene Barrett (Blandon), Justin McNatt, Dee Dennis (Craig), Kirby Cryoskie (Chuck), Jessy Merritt (James) and Cody Trosper (Michelle); eleven great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, J B Trosper; a son, Larry Trosper; a daughter, SueAnn Matthews; a sister, Freda Woodard and a brother, Lewis Roberts.
A celebration of her life will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2021 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the funeral home.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Steve Trent, Justin McNatt, Cody Trosper, Tyler Cox, Blandon Barrett and Kenny Hope.
