Obituary

Jonesboro - Etta Jean Bennett, 85, went to be with her Lord, Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She lived in Jonesboro for twenty-five years, formerly of Pocahontas and Walnut Ridge.

She was born April 3, 1934 in Gum Stump to the late Dale and Maggie Kerley Pickett. Her early education was in Santa Barbara, California and later in St. Louis, as a teen she worked for Hertz of St. Louis and was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell. Mrs. Bennett enjoyed needlepoint, cross stitching, and being a homemaker and loved interior decorating. She played piano at church and was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church and was a former member of the Shannon Baptist Church in Pocahontas.

She is survived by two sons and their wives, Paul and Sherri Bennett and Ron and Sherry Bennett all of Jonesboro; a brother, Gary Pickett of St. Louis; six grandchildren, Mary Grace Bennett, Nick Bennett both of Jonesboro, Jordan Bennett (Grace) of Conway, Trey Bennett and Julia Bennett both of Jonesboro and Matthew Murphy of Norfolk, VA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Bennett Sr.

A celebration of her life will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2019 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Randolph Memorial Gardens in Pocahontas.

The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 p.m. Friday at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Trey Bennett, Wayne Rogers, Nick Bennett, Jordan Bennett, Stan Jones and Michael Teague.
