Obituary

Pocahontas, Essie Pauletta Stokes, 86, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015 at Five Rivers Medical Center. Pauletta was born October 16, 1928 to the late Coda and Esther Hand Rogers. Pauletta is survived by her daughter Mary Jo Stokes of Pocahontas, sisters Juanita Ingram of Pocahontas, Colleen (Dubbie)Sowell of Jackson, MS., Two grandsons Cody and Rhonda Alphin of Attica and Travis and Jessica Alphin of Attica and 4 great grandchildren, 1 niece Carlene and Paul Propst of Black Rock, 2 nephews Jeff and Craig Sowell of Jackson, MS. She is preceded in death by her parents Coda and Esther Rogers and a daughter Duline Aphin. Pauletta was a member of the Skaggs Church of Chirst. She has enjoyed playing pool, tennis, and bowling. Pauletta loved crocheting and working crossword puzzles as well as spending time with family. Services will be held in McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 6, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held the following day Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Gerald Fears officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers: Tony Haymes, Gerry Alphin, Phillip Flurry, Ralph Glisson, Jason Glisson and Steve DeClerk.
