Obituary

Mrs. Essie Warine Cook of Austin, Texas, formerly of Harrisburg, departed this life Thursday, June 13, 2013 in Austin, at the age of Ninety-Four. She was born June 22, 1913 at Black Oak, Arkansas, the daughter of Frank and Lee Mitchusson. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She loved working in ceramics, sewing, oil painting, crocheting, quilting, and gardening. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She received an award for Senior Citizen Employee of The Year while working for Arkansas Area Agency On Aging. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W.L. Cook Jr., a son, Danny Rosco Cook, and nine siblings. She is survived by a son, Walter "Dub" Cook III, of Wynne and a daughter, Brenda Cook Stevens of Austin, Texas, Two grandchildren, Walter L. Cook IV, Stephanie Stevens Brock of Irvine, California, and Three great grandchildren, Rowan Brock of Irvine, California, and Danny and Charlotte Cook of Killeen, Texas. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Gregg-Weston Funeral Home in Harrisburg with Rev. Larry Loggins officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Monday evening, 6:00-9:00 p.m.
