Jonesboro – Emma Evelyn Poole, 88, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.
She was born December 8, 1933 in Jonesboro to the late Jeff and Hazel Cook. Mrs. Emma worked in the cafeteria in the Valley View School District for twenty-four years where they fondly called her Grandma. She had also worked at Tobacco Sales, C & I Electric, Gillespie Egg Farm and at Downtown Café. She enjoyed cooking, drinking coffee and reading the newspaper. She enjoyed going to Spring River but she loved her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Debra Wade (Jimmy) of Jonesboro and Patricia Ferguson (Jim) of Byhalia, Miss; grandchildren, Brooke Jones (Chris), Victoria Sirico (Anthony), Joshua Poole (Patricia), Dustin Poole (Bethany), John Poole (Candace), Dalton Poole, Vikki Kay Braun, Sebastian Staggs (Gracie), Alice Poole, Emily Poole, Adam Poole and Michelle Newell (Justin); sixteen great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Poole Sr.; her sons, Harry Poole Jr. and Greg Poole; two brothers, Jeff Cook Jr. and Charles Cook; two sisters, Hattie Johnson and Mildred Knight.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
Service will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.
