Jonesboro- Emma Frances Perry, 96, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013. She was born on February 12, 1917 in Cherry Valley to the late James Silas Walls Sr. and Nora Bell Hinsely Walls. Mrs. Perry was a homemaker and a member of the Central Baptist Church. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Barbara and Bob Funderburgh of Owasso, OK, Roy and Jawanda Perry and Teresa and Garry Patterson all of Jonesboro; a daughter-in-law, Pat Perry of Jonesboro; eleven grandchildren, Randy Penn (Darlinda) of Cash, Mark Penn (Rita) of Jonesboro, Diane Evans (Jackie) of Canton, North Carolina, Donna Hodges (Marvin) of Holt, Missouri, Daniel Perry (Abigail) , Caleb Perry, Beth Perry and Mike Perry (Sophia), Angie Martin (Lincoln) all of Jonesboro, Ashley Patterson of Van Nuys, CA and Lance Patterson (Heather) of Jonesboro; a brother, J. S. Walls (Tina) of Harrisburg; a sister, Betty Walls of Harrisburg; sixteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Perry Sr.; two children, Nick Perry and Ann Penn; two brothers, Emmitt Walls and Bill Walls; three sisters, Clara May Walls, Birdie Sue Parker and Vera Backus; a son-in-law, Paul Penn; a grandson, Keith Basden. A celebration of her life will be 10:00 am, Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, Friday, August 2, 2013 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home, 300 W. Matthews Ave. Honored to serve as pallbearers are her grandsons.
