Poplar Bluff- Elsie Edith Sullins Coleman, 96, formerly of Jonesboro passed away Monday, July 14, 2014 at Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff. She was born on April 14, 1918 in Grubbs to the late Charles David and Minnie Johns Sullins (Dr. McCurry delivered Mrs. Coleman on April 14 but by the time he got home he entered her birth date as April 15th). On June 10, 1939, she married Julius A. Coleman, son of William Thomas and Gertrude Pyle Coleman. Julius passed away on April 4, 1998. Elsie was a member of the Highland Drive Church of Christ in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Wilma and John Arnold of Poplar Bluff and Mary and Ken Cannady of Horseshoe Bend; six grandchildren, Dana Arnold Cooke, Cheryl Arnold Wilson, Greg Cannady, Karen Cannady Rogers, Sharon Cannady King and Joel Arnold; ten great-grandchildren, Kimberly Long Shaw, Whitney Long Barnes, Colby Rogers, Joseph King Jr., Amy Wilson, Blake Rogers, Scott Wilson, Joshua King, Carrie Arnold and Caleb Arnold; one great-great-grandson, Jace Michael Shaw; a brother and his wife, Dean and Donna Sullins of Greenville, Texas; sister-in-law, Ava Young of North Little Rock. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Ernest, Cecil, Earl and Olan Sullins. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home with Terry Joe Kee officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home, 300 W. Matthews Ave. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Sam Barnett, Randy Oden, Joel Arnold, Greg Cannady, Josh King and Blake Rogers and as honorary pallbearers, Elders of Highland Dr. Church of Christ in Poplar Bluff and Tom Carter, Charles Lancaster, Mark North and Ralph Nelson.
