Mrs. Ellen Ann Hendrix of Weiner, departed this life Monday, March 14, 2022, at the NEA Hospital in Jonesboro, at the age of 64.

She was born October 13, 1957 in Forrest City, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Lewis Shafer and Dorothy Louise Swiney Shafer.

Ellen was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, working in the yard and flowers.  She was of the Baptist faith. Dwayne found his angel and married her on March 15, 1974 and they enjoyed 48 years together.

She is survived by her husband, Dwayne Hendrix of the home, two daughters, Courtney (Frankie) Allen of Wynne, and Ashley (Byron) Lindsey of Harrisburg, one sister, Frankie Whitaker of Forrest City, seven grandchildren, Jackson, Breanna, Brynlee, Courtney, Taylor, Mickie and Landon, and one great grandson, Karter.

Funeral services are set for Noon, Thursday, March 17, 2022, at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg, with Brother Gary Woodard officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Weiner. Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday, 11:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Billy Shafer, Bobby Shafer, Burt Swiney, Jr., Donothan Hartness, James McMahan, and JR McMahan.
