Obituary

Jonesboro- Elizabeth Ann Vance Bailey went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Tuesday, January 10, 2023.

Ann was born December 15, 1939 in Walnut Ridge to Howard Grant and Wanda Sellers Vance. Ann graduated from Hoxie High School in 1956 and Arkansas State College in 1960, where she was a member of Phi Mu Fraternity.

Ann's life was punctuated by many roles – daughter, wife, mother, public school teacher, musician, merchant, shop owner, seamstress, health-care manager, and care-giver. Ann was an active member of Highland Drive Baptist Church for the past fifteen years and was constantly pointing others to Jesus. She will always be remembered as a caring, loving, self-effacing person who was always more interested in others than herself. We will be lost without her.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, Donald Mitchell Bailey of the home; a son, Patrick Vance Bailey (Maureen) of Scottsdale, AZ; brothers, Howard Eugene "Gene" Vance (Peggy) and David Boston Vance (Alice) all of Jonesboro; brother-in-law, Thomas Burton Bailey (Becky) of Little Rock; one grandson, Graham Mitchell Bailey of Scottsdale, AZ.; nephews David Vance, II (Erika), Gregory Vance, Jonesboro, Hunter Mitchell Bailey (Abby) of Memphis, TN; nieces, Seketheia Vance, Shelly Teat (Ron), Jonesboro; Carolyn Marie "Camie" Boshears (Boyd) of Little Rock. Also, a host of cousins including Jean Marie Craft (Ron) ("always her flower girl") of Jonesboro and two godsons, Aaron Heller and Erik Heller.

Ann was preceded in death by her daughter, Frances Ann Bailey.

The visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home.

A celebration of her life will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Highland Drive Baptist Church with Dr. Johnny Hutchison officiating. Burial will be private.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Greg Vance, David Vance II, Austin Vance, Jacob Watson, Aaron Heller and Hunter Bailey.
