Lake City- Elizabeth Stone, 91, passed away Monday, August 15, 2022 at her home.
She was born December 31, 1930 in Scobey, Mississippi to the late Ellis and Kate Flye Howle. She attended Ouachita Baptist College and Southern Baptist College received a Business Degree. Mrs. Elizabeth worked at Citizen's Bank in Lake City. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lake City. She taught children's church for forty years, did summer mission work at Central Baptist Church and was a member of Women's Mission Union. She enjoyed fishing in Florida, gardening and also loved flowers.
She is survived by her husband of forty-three years, Henry Stone and three sisters, Bettie Wilson (Wayne), Joyce Ann Martin (Jim) and Jean Barkley (Mike) all of Jonesboro; fourteen nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Acey Howle and her first husband, Ralph Earnheart.
A celebration of her life will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home with Steven Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Her nephews will be honored to serve as pallbearers.
