Jonesboro- Elizabeth Ann Dennis Rorex, 84, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2020 at St. Bernards Medical Center.

She was born January 18, 1936 in Vina, Alabama to the late W.A. and Rosa Lee Sparks Carpenter. She worked for several years at Poinsett County Judge's office and retired from Children's Colony. Elizabeth enjoyed sewing and gardening and loved to cook. She was one of the original Rice Festival Ladies in Weiner. She was a longtime member of Weiner Christian Church.

She is survived by her son, Robert Mark Dennis and wife Cherie of Weiner and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Bobby Dennis and Sammy Rorex; son, Ronald Clay Dennis; siblings, Wayne Carpenter, Mack Carpenter, Malcom Carpenter and Willadean Hesse and a grandson, Joshua Mark Dennis.

A graveside service will be at 11:00 am Monday, October 12, 2020 at Fisher Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Junyor officiating under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.

Lasting memorials may be sent to Fisher Cemetery or Fisher Fire Department or Weiner Fire Department.

All attendees must wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines.
