Eldred Leon Hon, 90 of Pocahontas passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Pocahontas Nursing and Rehab.

Eldred was born September 6, 1931, to the late Mosey Hon and Hattie Rexroad Hon.  He enjoyed playing his guitar and harmonica and singing in church. He attended Assembly of God Church. He also loved telling jokes. In his younger days Dad loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed gardening and riding his John Deere mower.

Eldred was preceded in death by his parents, Mosey and Hattie Hon; brothers Cruse and Andy Hon, sister Myrtle Brown; sisters Vera and Mary Turner, brother Duffy Hon.

Eldred is survived by son David L. Hon of Pocahontas, son Darrel W. Hon of Rockford, IL and son Dennis R. (Susan) Hon of Rockford, IL; ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2022.  Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel with Scott Wedding officiating.  Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery.
