Jonesboro- Edward Don Hancock, 72, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at his home.
He was born April 28, 1944 in Bay to the late Edward Hancock and Louise Holt Hancock and graduated from Bay High School in 1962. Don had worked at J.A. Riggs Tractor Company as parts man and mechanic, Jonesboro Ford Tractor as parts manager and Ark-La-Tex Mill Supply as a machinist. He was a member of the Jonesboro Masonic Lodge # 129- Worshipful Master 32 Degree and a member of the Bay United Methodist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jackie Isbell Hancock; two daughters and their husbands, Dondra and Scott Morrison and Stephanie and David Gean; three grandchildren, Mallory Stocks (Jordan), Austin Gean and Lexi Morrison; great-grandchildren, Jace Stocks, Kynadie Stocks and Thea due in March; a sister, Ann Collins (Gerald); a brother, Kenneth Hancock (Pam); many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
He is also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Hancock.
A celebration of his life will be 11:00 am Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Bay United Methodist Church with Rev. Donald Lewert officiating. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Friday at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
