Jonesboro- Edward Easley, 90, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at NEA Baptist Hospital.
He was born July 10, 1931 in Black Oak to late John and Vergie Kirkpatrick Easley. Edward served his country proudly in the United States Army. He was a farmer all of his life. He also worked at Frolic Footwear for sixteen years, Nettleton Feed Store and retired from Riceland Foods after ten years. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife Odean Harvey Easley; children, Penny Newton (Bill Bentley) of Trumann, Jerry Easley (Margaret), Danny Easley (Tammy), Fred Easley (Diane) and David Easley (Jennifer) all of Jonesboro; a sister, Opal Homesley of Bellville, IL; grandchildren, Derek Easley (Adrienne), Stephanie Duffel (Jonathan), Cody Easley, Michael Easley (Lauren), Kristen Branch (Cody), Shana Easley (Jamie), Jacob Easley (Bekah), Cyndi Redden (Scotty), Staci Haddick (Todd), Jeremy Haas and Tiffany Haas; ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Easley; a granddaughter, Rachel Easley; a great-grandson, Ian Easley; brothers, Mark Easley and Roy Easley; sisters, Ophelia Easley, Maudie Varner, Gracie Presley, Shirley Goza, Katherine McIntire and Bonnie Criswell.
A celebration of his life will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2021 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Log Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2021 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Michael Easley, Jacob Easley, Derek Easley, Cody Easley, Rusty Bednar and Ethan Duffel and as honorary pallbearers, Colin Lozano, Cody Branch, Rick Hoke, Mason Duffel and Jeremy Haas.
