Edna Jewell Cummings, 98, of Walnut Ridge, passed away November 16, 2013 at Lawrence Nursing Center. She was born on March 6, 1915 to the late John and Vena (Merrill) Pursley in the Enterprise Community. She was a home maker and a member of Nettleton Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who lived for her family and loved to garden and cook. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lealon Cummings Sr. as well as a son, Ed Cummings, two grandsons, Eddie Cummings and Jay Lee Cummings, a sister, Cuma Seanard and a son-in-law, Duffy Peronia. Survivors include three sons, A.J. Cummings and wife Louise of Booneville, Rudy Cummings and wife Barb of Jonesboro and Lealon Cummings Jr. and wife Ann of Fort Worth, TX., four daughters, Betty Peronia of Jonesboro, Linda Colburn and husband Terry of Egypt, Joy Lingo and husband Dennis of Egypt and Shirley Murphy and husband Glenn of Walnut Ridge, eleven grandchildren, Carolyn Cooper and husband Mickey, Cathy Graddy and husband Terry, Douglas Peronia, Julie Raggio and husband Dennis, Toni Moore and husband Kirk, Tammie McDonald and husband Scott, Donna Whitley, Crockett Murphy and wife Kristi, Blair Ballard and husband Jerry, Lyndsey Lamberson and husband Jacob and Laura Burgess and husband Marty, twenty four great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 11:00a.m.Tuesday, November 19, 2013 in the chapel of Gregg Langford-Bookout Funeral Home with Rev. Stan Ballard and Rev Harold Ray officiating. Interment will follow in Nettleton Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday evening from six until eight. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Douglas Peronia, Crockett Murphy, Christopher Graddy, Jacob Lamberson, Marty Burgess and Jerry Ballard.
