Black Oak- Eddie Ronald James, 71, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at St. Bernards Medical Center.
He was born August 11, 1946 in Jonesboro to the late Corky and Easter James. He had farmed all of his life. Eddie enjoyed his lake home and loved his family especially his granddaughters.
He is survived by his son, Kris James (LeighAnn) of Black Oak; two granddaughters, Erin James and Morgan James of Monette; two sisters, Alene Underwood of Batesville and Clara Kelly Shrout of Jonesboro; a brother, Tommy Nelson of Shell Knob, Missouri; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
He is also preceded in death by his son, Kevin James.
A celebration of his life will be 1:00 pm Friday, January 19, 2018 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Eddie Dunigan officiating. Interment will follow at Caraway Cemetery.
The visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home at 300 W. Matthews Ave in Jonesboro.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Kent Gipson, Sonny Campbell, Aaron Liles, Bishop Whitley, Mike Estes and Kyle Nall and as honorary pallbearers, Paul Brown, Steve Moody, Ronnie Qualls, Danny Qualls, Floyd Campbell and Chuck Loop.
Lasting memorials may be sent to St. Jud Children's Research Hospital or The Children's Shelter in Walnut Ridge.
