Mrs. Earline Combs Smith of Harrisburg, departed this life on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at the St. Bernard\u0027s Medical Center in Jonesboro, at the age of 74.
She was born March 13, 1946 in Pennington, AR, the daughter of the late H.G. "Blue" Combs and Derothle Majors Combs.
Earline retired from Johansen Brothers Shoe Company in Harrisburg and enjoyed spending time spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to fish, play dot-to-dot puzzles and enjoyed westerns. She was a faithful member of the Harrisburg Church of Christ and thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship meals together. She was well known for her potato salad. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 29 years, Orville "Possum" Smith on April 9, 2009, two brothers, Billy Don Combs and Willie Wayburn Combs, one nephew, Mark Stoker, Jr., and one great granddaughter, Scarlett Grace Griffin.
She is survived by three sons, Brook Combs (Connie) of Harrisburg, Orville Smith, Jr. (Monica) of Harrisburg, Derek Versie (Latonya) of Jonesboro, two daughters, Gayle Peifer (Brian Davis) of Harrisburg and Joanne Whitehead of Harrisburg, two brothers, Joe Combs (Diane) of Marion, AR and Don Combs (Sheila) of Midway, AR, two sisters, Barbara Rushing of Cape Girardeau, MO and Linda Smith of Harrisburg, seven grandchildren, Samantha Cox of Harrisburg, Maegan Peifer of Harrisburg, Zach Combs (Katie) of Paragould, Fisher Cox (Michelle) of Harrisburg, Tyler Griffin (Caitlin) of Weiner, Trey Smith (Anna) of Paragould, and Karlee Peifer of Harrisburg, and six great grandchildren, Jordyn Peifer, Dutch Cox, Brooklyn Pierce, Laiklynn Cox, Case Combs and Quaid Cox.
Funeral services have been set for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2021, at the Harrisburg Church of Christ with Brother Bob McDoniel officiating. Interment will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Gregg-Weston Funeral Home of Harrisburg. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Wednesday evening, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Zach Combs, Fisher Cox, Tyler Griffin, Trey Smith, Chase Faulkner, and Tanner Gray.
