Obituary

Paragould- Earl Carlton Travis, 82, passed away Monday, September 9, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Place.

He was born October 24, 1936 in Trumann to the late Charles and Doretha Holloway Travis. Earl served his country proudly in the United States Navy and Arkansas National Guard. He was an electrician, he received his training in the service and had worked at Arkansas State University. He was a member of Brookland Baptist Church. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Shelby Travis; his children, Sandra Davis and Debra Gammon (Jeff) all of Paragould, Vicki Gammon (Kevin) of Jonesboro and Heather Bristow (Brent) of Beebe; two sisters, Betty Houston of Fayetteville and Sue Bilyeu of Sulfur Rock; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bob Travis and Bill Travis and a son-in-law, Jimmie David Davis.

The visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.

Service will be private.
