Mrs. Druzell Mae "Tommie" Barrett of Blytheville, formerly of Lepanto, departed this life Thursday, July 3, 2014, at her home in Blytheville, at the age of 68. She was born in Rivervale, December 5, 1945, the daughter of Robert E. lee Whaley and Mable Effie Shelton Whaley. She was a convenience store manager for Mid-South Sales for many years and was a Baptist. She enjoyed cooking and going to the casinos. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ronald lee Barrett, and 9 brothers and sisters. She is survived by one son, Jearl Lee Barrett of Blytheville; two grandsons, Justin Barrett and Tim Barrett, both of Blytheville; one sister, Irene "Susie" McDowell (Albert) of Vicksburg, Michigan, and three brothers, Wayford Whaley (Nancy) of Proctor, John Henry "Jinx" Whaley (Dottie) of Tupelo, MS and Charles Wayne Whaley (Carol) of Bartlett, TN. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at the Rivervale Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Potters Cemetery at Lepanto under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monett. Friends may visit at the church, Monday evening, 5:00 till 9:00 p.m. Those wishing to send memorials are asked to consider St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
