Longtime Pocahontas physician, Dr. George Randall “Randy” Guntharp, D.O., 70, of Jonesboro, formerly of Pocahontas, entered his heavenly home on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Randy was born on September 20, 1955, in Pocahontas to the late George Albert and Bobbie Lea Rogers Guntharp. He graduated with his Doctorate degree as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. In 1994 he began his medical practice at Pocahontas Medical Clinic and later practiced at First Choice Healthcare. He also taught science courses at Black River Technical College and Crowley’s Ridge College for several years. He loved Jesus, Looney Tunes, and the Razorbacks. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Bobbie Guntharp; and one sister, Brenda Guntharp.

He is survived by his wife, Danna Lea Bates Guntharp; stepchildren, Gary (Abbey) Taber of Jonesboro, Kevin (Katelynn) Taber of Bono, and Jamie Taber of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Kelsey Morris, Knox Taber, Kali Quinn Taber, and Mia Taber; sister, Becky Miller; nephews, Kirk Miller and Kent Miller; and niece, Katie Miller. He also leaves behind many cousins, and other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1-2 P.M. on Saturday, April 11, 2026 in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 2 P.M. with Joshua Dement officiating. Burial will follow in Janes Cemetery at Ravenden Springs.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Gary Taber, Kevin Taber, Kyle Hausman, Dalton Crow, Kirk Miller and Kent Miller.
