Jonesboro- Dorothy Margaret Pohlner, 95, formerly of Fisher passed away January 17, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born on January 25, 1920 in Weiner, she was a member of the 1939 class of Weiner High School where she was a member of the women\u0027s basketball team. She and husband John were married on June 24, 1939, and lived for more than forty years on the family farm in Fisher before moving to Jonesboro. Dorothy was a charter member of the Fisher Baptist Church and active in the Fisher Home Demonstration Club. She was also a member of The First Baptist Church of Jonesboro. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, John Pohlner; her parents Guy and Cora Hughes; sister, Una Mae McKnight; brothers John Anderson Hughes and Bobby Joe Hughes. She is survived by her daughters Jo Ann Carmack of Heber Springs and Sue Jane Morrison of Jonesboro. Known lovingly as "Ma" she enjoyed the endearing love of four grandchildren, John Morrison (wife Teresa) of Humboldt, TN, Hayden Morrison of Jonesboro, Kelly Pohl (husband Matt) of Heber Springs, and Ann Crawley (husband Brad) of Jonesboro; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 pm, Tuesday at the funeral home. A celebration of her life will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Venable officiating with burial at Fisher Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Morrison, Hayden Morrison, Parker Morrison, Matt Pohl, Brad Crawley and Braden Crawley and honorary pallbearers, Roger Pohlner, Donald Pohlner, Paul McKnight, Brian Mack, and Steve Schwartz.
