Dorothy Finney, 81, of Michigan City passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Inpatient Hospice at Saint Anthony Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Burial will follow in Sherum Cemetery in Sherum, Arkansas. Viewing will be on Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Root Funeral Home in Michigan City and on Saturday from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Dorothy was born November 25, 1932 in Arkansas to the late Edward and Virginia (Gates) Tarwater. In Michigan City, Indiana on April 1, 1950 she married William L. Finney who passed away on April 28, 1980. Surviving are four sons, William (Jenny) Finney of Michigan City, James "Jay" Finney of Wheeler, Indiana, Larry (Mary) Finney of Fish Lake, Indiana and Al (Cindy) Finney of Michigan City; step-daughter, Dena Combs; thirteen grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren; one sister, Wendy Manis of Pocahontas, Arkansas; step-sister Beulah High and special friends Lois McCray and Donna Howard. Dorothy is preceded in death by one step-son, Eugene Finney. Dorothy was a retired leather cutter from Burnham Glove Factory after thirteen years of service. She was a member of the VFW Aux., a Life Member of the DAV Aux and attended the Church of Christ when she was able to.
