Dorothy Nellie Sue Bocken, born June 22, 1934, in El Paso, Arkansas passed away peacefully during the late evening hours of Monday, June 8, 2026 at her home at the age of 91.
Dorothy was a woman of deep faith, strong values, and a warm spirit. A devoted Christian for many years, she took great pride in living a life that reflected her faith. She loved attending church and spending time with friends sharing fellowship with those around her. Her kindness, welcoming nature and love of socializing brought joy to many lives. Dorothy loved attending church at First Assembly of God Church in Pocahontas where she was a member.
Dorothy also had a special talent for decorating and creating beauty wherever she lived. She took tremendous pride in her appearance and worked diligently to make her home a warm, beautiful, and inviting place for family and friends. She also was a wonderful cook and created some memorable dishes for family functions and holidays. Dorothy was a licensed cosmetologist in Highland, Indiana prior to moving to Pocahontas in 2007.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, David and Lucy Michael; her first husband, Christopher Nash; second husband, George Bocken; beloved son, Danny C. Nash; and by two brothers, Ruben Michael and Gerald Michael.
She is survived by two sisters, Mary Waterson of Pocahontas, Arkansas and Ruby Childs of Hull, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Robin Nash of Bumpass, Virginia; along with many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
Dorothy’s legacy of faith, friendship, beauty, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 11 AM at Randolph Memorial Gardens with Pastor Terry Miller officiating under the direction of McNabb Funeral Home.
