Mrs. Doris Ailene King of Harrisburg, departed this life, Saturday, December 1, 2018, at her daughter\u0027s home in Lebanon, TN.
She was born March 10, 1939 in Harrisburg, the daughter of the late Earnest Winters and Dorothy Tibbs Winters.
Doris delivered lunches for many years to the home-bound people in the Harrisburg area and later became the director of the Harrisburg Senior Citizens. She was very involved in many community activities and had a true servant\u0027s heart. She was a member of the EHC, Red Hat Ladies, and the Festival on the Ridge Committee. She loved gardening, sewing, knitting and cooking and was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Harrisburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Jack King and a son, Jackie King.
She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Gipson of Lebanon, TN and Brenda Walker of Helena, AR, seven grandchildren, Josh King of Senatobia, MS, Jeremy King of Hernando, MS, Paul Gipson of Maryville, TN, Dana Dickens of Harrisburg, Jennifer Pino of Murphesboro, TN, Ashley Saunders of Mt. Juliet, TN, and Tiffanie Walker of Harrisburg, and ten great grandchildren, Blake Dickens, Cody Dickens, Emily Gipson-Saunders, Karissa Gipson-Saunders, Kayleigh Pino, Emmett Gipson, Noah Gipson, Caleb Pino, Ethan Stewart and Gabriel Roberson.
Funeral services are set for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Harrisburg with Rev. Jason Goad and Tim Putt officiating. Interment will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church noon till service time.
