IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Doris Catherine
Clark Crisp
August 1, 1929 – April 13, 2022
Jonesboro- Doris Catherine Clark Crisp, 92, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. She was not able to recover from surgery to repair injuries suffered in a fall at her home in The Villa.
Doris was born August 1, 1929 to John and Ethel Clark. Her father passed in 1944 when she was fifteen years old. Later, she lost her immediate family, her mother, Ethel, her husband, Eugene Crisp and their son, Steven and her beloved sister, Dorothy Brown.
She lived in Jonesboro all of her life. Doris attended and excelled in her school years in the Jonesboro Schools. Later she worked at Heinemann's Department Store, took business classes and worked in the insurance business for a number of years. After her son was born, she began taking a more active role in the family business, Crisp Exxon.
Family, friends and her faith were important to Doris. She was very active and enjoyed working at her son's school. One of her fondest activities was keeping in touch with a group of girls from her school days which met on a regular basis. Furthermore, Doris was an active member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her cousins and their families, Jim and Terry Wilkins and their children, Leigh Ann Whisenant (Chad), Amy Cates (Kevin) and Cody Wilkins (Daylene) and Joyce and Charles Cooper and their children, John Slocum (Lora), Grace Allen (Roger) and Charlotte Dhudshia (Neel) and a dear friend and Christian Brother to the Crisp family, D. Price Marshall.
Our appreciation goes out to the staff at The Villa and Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House for the care and support she was given. Special thanks to Doris's guardian angel, Robert Jones. He had Doris' best interest at heart for many years and has gone and beyond the mile in many ways to help her.
