Donald Ray Lee, Sr., of Harrisburg departed this life Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, at the age of 87. He was born on November 14, 1931, in Paragould, Arkansas, the son of the late Harold and Junie (Wadley) Lee of Dixie, Arkansas. He was a graduate of Dixie High School in 1950, and entered the United States Army soon thereafter where he served and fought in the Korean War. When he returned from military service, he married his loving and devoted wife, R. Jeanette Chisenhall of Lake City, Arkansas, on October 29, 1955, and they shared over 60 years of marriage. Together they had one daughter and two sons. He was a long time active member of the Greenfield Baptist Church and served as the treasurer for the church for many years. Donald was an avid fisherman and enjoyed many days fishing with his wife, children, and grand-children. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and family members and enjoyed special occasions when all of his family members were together. He worked many years in the rice industry and enjoyed working with area farmers in purchasing and drying rice in the Waldenburg and Harrisburg areas. He was proceeded in death by his parents, his wife, R. Jeanette Lee, one daughter, Donna Renee Neal, two brothers, Harold Lee, Jr., Bobby Lee, and one sister, Teresa Thomason. He is survived by two sons, Donald Ray Lee, Jr., of Harrisburg, and Charles K. Lee (Sonya) of Rogers, AR, one sister, Mary Fields of Hillsboro, MO, and three brothers, Leamon Lee (Helen) of Hardy, AR, Freddie Lee (Brenda) of Branson, MO, and Glenn Lee (Glenna) of Paragould, AR, five grandchildren, Daniel Neal (Denise), Brandon Neal (Jennifer), Matthew Lee (Bailey), Jennifer Kirk (Brad), and Jalen Lee, two step grandchildren, Sarah Butler (Brad) and Amanda Emison, six great-grandchildren, Brayden and Jameson Kirk, Brittain Lee, Ryder Neal, Jack and Max Butler, and many extended family members and friends. Graveside Funeral Services are set for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019, at the Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland with Rev. Michael Criner officiating. Gregg-Weston Funeral Home of Harrisburg is in charge of arrangements. Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday evening, 6:00- 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Daniel Neal, Matt Lee, Brandon Neal, Jalen Lee, Bradley Kirk, and Brad Butler.
