Mr. Donald Oscar Faulkner of Harrisburg departed this life Tuesday morning, April 12, 2016, at the St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro, at the age of 71. He was born February 25, 1945 in Marked Tree, the son of the late Oscar Dee Faulkner and Ruthie Mae Underwood Faulkner. Donald owned and operated Harrisburg Body Shop for over 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, going to the lake, spending time with his family and dominoes. He loved the outdoors and mowing yards. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-brother, Harold Faulkner, a half-sister, Dorothy Mills, a sister, Jewell Moore, and two grandchildren, Jared Caraway and Brigitte Closson. He is survived by his wife, Kay Faulkner of the home, five children, Scherie Caraway, Donna Griffin, Mitchell Faulkner, Lisa Closson (Jeff), Misty McGuire (James), all of Harrisburg, four sisters, Betty Cleaves (John) of Jonesboro, Joyce Brock of Drummonds, TN, Maxine Mitleff and Sammie Goucher (Larry), both of Harrisburg, 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg with Bro. Matt Travis officiating. Interment will follow in Bay Village Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday, 1:00 p.m. till service time. Pallbearers will be James McGuire, Mitchell Faulkner, Barry Mitleff, Byron Mitleff, Randall Stanford, Eddie Churchwell and Jeff Closson. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Faulkner, Jamie Faulkner, Lane Griffin, Gerald Blaxton, Larry Peifer and Marc Jarrett. Those wishing to send memorials are asked to consider the Amercian Heart Association or the American Cancer Association.
