Jonesboro- Don St. Pierre, 85, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 29, 2020.
He was born in Chicago to Merle and Ethel Josephine St. Pierre and moved to Wheaton, IL at the age of 5. He attended Wheaton Academy and graduated from Wheaton College in 1956. He moved to Jonesboro in 1959 to join his parents in running a flower shop. He met the love of his life, Bobbie Carol Watkins, at Central Baptist Church on February 28, 1965 and they were married just four months later on July 3, 1965. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Mark and Lee.
He was a well-known florist that owned and operated St. Pierre's Flowers and Gifts for over fifty years. He was well respected within the floral community and was a mentor to many florists throughout the state. Don was a member of AIFD (American Institute of Floral Designs) and the Arkansas Florist Association, where he served as president in 1978. He was a member of the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International Club where he was a Paul Harris Fellow and was an active member of Central Baptist Church and Ed Martin's Sunday School Class.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of thirty-two years and a brother, Bob.
He is survived by sons, Dr. Mark (Nancy) St. Pierre of Little Rock and Dr. Lee (Angel) St. Pierre of Jonesboro; six grandchildren, Mark Jr., Annie and Lillie St. Pierre all of Little Rock and Jackson, Parker, and Spencer St. Pierre all of Jonesboro and a large host of friends.
Private burial will be held under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
A celebration of his life will be held at Central Baptist Church at a later date.
