Mr. Don Carlos Page of Harrisburg departed this life on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, at the age of 79.
He was born December 14, 1945 in Cherry Valley, AR the son of the late Rufus Amos Page and Ruby Jewell Walls Page.
Don was a retired U.S. Army veteran having served two tours in Vietnam, Korea and Honduras. During his enlistment, he received the following accommodations and medals. A Bronze Star, Air Medal, Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal with “V” for heroism, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Army Achievement Medal, Reserve Achievement Medal, Korean Defense Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Expert Marksman Badge for Anti-tank Missile and Machine Gun, and a Recruiting Ribbon for recruiting. Following his retired from active duty in 1976, he joined the Arkansas Army National Guard and also retired from them in 1996. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and the DAV. Don was a cook for the Jonesboro Human Development Service and retired from the State of Arkansas in 2003. He loved shooting and spending time with his pets and animals. Don was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Joyce Page in 2021. They had spent 33 years together. He was also preceded in death by his very special grandmother, Mary Walls.
He is survived by one daughter, Tammy Grant of Harrisburg, one sister, Mary Ann Nation of McCrory, three grandchildren, Aaron Grant (Sara),Laura Joplin, and Noah Grant (Jessica), all of Harrisburg, and twelve great grandchildren, Kylynn Hubbard, Kason Hubbard, Drake Grant, Elijah Grant, River Grant, T.L. “Hotshot” Grant, Levi Grant, Colt Grant, Braylon Grant, Kynlee Grant, Kane Grant, and Knox Joplin.
A Graveside Funeral has been set for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Bolivar Cemetery, under the direction of Gregg-Weston Funeral Home of Harrisburg. Friends may visit Wednesday morning, 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Buster Bush will officiate and Full Funeral Honors will be given by the American Legion Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Noah Grant, Aaron Grant, Lee Blagg, Eddie Hooper, Terry Jenkins and Floyd Tucker. Honorary Pallbearers will be Glenn Horst, Donald Green and Nathan Biggs.
