Pocahontas - Dennis Sidney Cooper, 68, of Pocahontas passed away Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Arkansas Continued Care Hospital in Jonesboro.
Dennis was born on March 17, 1951 in Pocahontas, AR to the late Buel and Marie Bellah Cooper. He worked for the City of Pocahontas for over 30 years and was a retired firefighter.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He was always the "go to guy" for anything mechanical. He loved being a fireman - He felt it was the best job he was lucky enough to have. His dedication and love for his wife Buddy and their children was beyond measure.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Buel and Marie Bellah Cooper; grandparents, Bonnie and Pearl Bellah and Glee and Frankie Cooper; and one brother, Bill Bellah.
He is survived by his wife, Buddy Smith Cooper; one son, Chase (Kendra) Cooper of Ravenden; two daughters, Cortney (Jonathan) Walker of Pocahontas and Callie (Justin) Johnson of Maynard; grandchildren, Kord Woodard, Devlin Cooper, Alison Cooper, Jacob Walker, Izzy Walker, Natalie Strickland, Stayley Johnson, Tessa Johnson, and Laila Allen; two sisters, Darlene (Terry) Matheny of Ravenden and Raetta (Jimmy) McGuire of Pocahontas; and several nieces and nephews who truly loved Uncle Dennis.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 5-7 PM in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Memorial service will be on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 10 AM in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Jerry Cochran officiating. Cremation has been chosen for final disposition.
