Obituary

Pocahontas- Dempsie Elgin McCamey, 77, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015 in Little Rock. He was born December 29, 1937 in Okolona, Mississippi to the late Adolph and Lucie Pierce McCamey. He was a retired truck driver. He is survived by his children, Cheryl Lynn Spano of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Roger McCamey of Spencer, Oklahoma, Douglas McCamey of Leachville and Rebekah Haan of Jonesboro; three sisters, Fannie Shipman (Herbert) and Bonnie Grantham all of Brookland and Shirley Parker of Malvern; a brother, C. B. McCamey of Brookland; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Travis McCamey. A celebration of his life will be 10:00 am Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Jolly officiating. Burial to follow at Pine Log Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Honored to serve as pallbearers, D.J. McCamey, Travis McCamey Jr., Jules McCamey, Phil Grantham, Jake Haan and Daniel Hundley and honorary pallbearers, Herbert Shipman and Barry Hesse.
