Mrs. Delphia L. Brown of Harrisburg departed this life Monday, October 12, 2015, in Harrisburg, at the age of 85. She was born August 2, 1930 in Floral, AR, the daughter of the late Elgin Gaddis Sample and Thelma Gay Sample. Delphia was a member of the First Assembly of God in Harrisburg and loved to crochet, sew and enjoyed gardening. She retired from Johansen's Shoe Factory in Harrisburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 siblings, Alvis Sample, Bonnie Timbs and Glenn Sample, and two sons, Larry Brown and Tommy Brown. She is survived by two sisters, Donnie May Yielding of California and Jean White of Harrisburg, three grandchildren, Mona Clayton of Jonesboro, Michelle Flores and Reggie Brown, both of Harrisburg, 5 great grandchildren, Eddie Wayne Sandefur and J.L. Clayton, both of Jonesboro, and Antuane Tenorio, Mateo Flores and Brianna Brown, all of Harrisburg, and 7 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services have been set for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, at Gregg-Weston Funeral Home in Harrisburg with Pastor Ken Jones officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday Evening, 5:00-7:00 p.m.
