Obituary


Jonesboro- David Oscar Wilkins, 75, passed away December 6, 2015 at St. Bernard's Medical Center.
Mr. Wilkins was born November 6, 1940 in Weiner, AR to the late Noland and Irene Bulla Wilkins. He was a graduate of Weiner High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.David was a member of the Otwell Christian Church. He was a rice and soybean farmer for 52 years who took great pride in being a hard worker and raising and harvesting good crops. He loved building and flying model airplanes, making duck calls and woodworking. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Pat Wilkins, two sons, Gary Wilkins and his wife Donya of Jonesboro, and Todd Wilkins and his wife Jamie of Boca Raton, FL., a sister, Phyllis Stegmann and her husband Wallace of Cincinnati, OH., two precious granddaughters, Savannah Wilkins and Briannah Wilkins, mother-in-law Wilma Whitlow of Walnut Ridge, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Noreen Murphy and Patricia Guffey.
A celebration of his life will be 11:00 am Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Gregg Langford-Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Roberts officiating with the eulogy given by his nephew Dr. J. Stephen Guffey. Burial will follow at McDaniel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:00 am until service time Tuesday.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Larry Riley, James Whitlow, Jim Riley, Jon Riley, Daryl Guffey, Dr. J. Stephen Guffey, Todd Wilkins and Gary Wilkins. Honorary pallbearers will be The Otwell Christian Church Family.
