David Ivan Edington, of Biggers, AR, went to be with the Lord on January 22, 2021 at the age of 71.
David was born on November 13, 1949 in Biggers, AR to Jake and Odena (Pulliam) Edington. After graduating from Biggers-Reyno High School he received a Bachelor of Science degree from Arkansas State University. He was a basketball coach, teacher, and mentor for students at Biggers-Reyno, Metro Christian, and Cedarville. He later became a Superintendent for Borton Inc. Construction out of Hutchinson, KS, specializing in slip form construction of grain elevators. His work can been seen throughout Arkansas, Kansas, Texas, Wyoming and even as far as Saudi Arabia.
David had a larger than life personality. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. It seems that everyone that knew him has a hilarious "David Story". David was an extremely hard worker and also enjoyed farming throughout much of his life. In his retirement years he raised cattle and had many big adventures corralling escaped cows. David loved the Lord and his family whole-heartedly. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his loved ones - fishing, playing cards, taking grandkids on tractor rides, and watching ball games together.
David was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his partner, Teresa Mendenhall of Biggers, AR; former wife Cheryl Edington of Van Buren, AR; his children Andrea (Matt) Wilson of Rogers, AR and Alex (Lauren) Edington of Fort Smith, AR; siblings Danny (Vicki) Edington of Reyno, AR, Dennis (Lyn) Edington of Fayetteville, AR, Diane McCullough of Guymon, OK, Jonathan (MaryAnn) Edington of Corning, AR, and Jimmy (Beverly) Edington of Pocahontas, AR; 6 beloved grandchildren Adam, Drew, Titus, Abby, Maddox, and Conrad; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
