Mr. David Leroy Drake, Sr., of Harrisburg, departed this life on Saturday March 22, 2025, at St. Elizabeth's Place in Jonesboro, at the age of 90.

He was born October 22, 1934 in CA, the son of the late Leo David Drake and Mabel Daniel Drake.

David joined the U.S. Army right out of high school and served for three years active duty and then eight years in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a paratrooper and trained at Ft. Benning Georgia.  While in the service he was a mechanic.  After leaving the service, he continued as a mechanic for the remainder of his life.  He was a very quiet and to himself kind of person.  He took care of his family and provided for their needs.

David was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Menuella Elaine Drake in 2022, a daughter, Ladonna Miller and a sister.

He is survived by five Children, David Drake, Jr. of North Port, FL, Danny Ray Partin of Harrisburg, Brenda Ferriter of Harrisburg, Randy Partin and his wife Dorothy Ann of  Ore City,TX, and Jennifer Drake of Ceres, CA.  He also leaves many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services are set for Friday, March 28th, at 11:30 a.m. at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg.  Burial will follow in the Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery at Birdeye with full military honors. Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday morning, 10:30 a.m. till service time.
