Jonesboro- Daniel Duane Matthews, 97, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023 at his home.

He was born January 15, 1926 in Felsenthal to the late George Arvin and Alethalcome Webb Matthews. Mr. Matthews served his country proudly in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a photographer and retired from DuPont Company in Jonesboro after fifteen years. He enjoyed gardening and bass fishing and loved his family. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Jonesboro.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Joy Matthews in 2011; a brother and four sisters.

He is survived by his children, Gregory Matthews (Diane) of Jonesboro, Belinda Matthews of Marked Tree, Christopher Matthews of Paris and Danica Matthews of Mansfield, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private under the direction of Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
