Dan Webster Ellis, 93, of Pocahontas, peacefully departed this life on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Randolph Home Nursing and Rehab.
Born on February 29, 1932, in Pocahontas, Dan was the son of the late James F. Ellis and Winnie James Ellis. A graduate of Pocahontas High School, he went on to work as a devoted row crop farmer throughout his life. Dan was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing—one of his favorite pastimes.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanette A. Anderson Ellis; his parents; and siblings: Percy Ellis, Russell Ellis, Jack Ellis, Fern Coonce, Martha Edwards, Mary Simpson, Louise Simpson, Ann Wallace, and Fanny Broadway.
Dan is survived by his sons, Danny W. Ellis Jr. and Michael Wayne Ellis, both of Pocahontas; grandchildren, Ashlyn Ellis and Brynlee Ellis; and many other cherished relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at McNabb Funeral Home Chapel with Morgan Woodard officiating, with burial to follow at Randolph Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers honored to serve are Richard Ballard, Frank Ellis, Paul Goza, Josh Miller, Mark Brown, and Kevin Foster.
Honorary pallbearers include Rudy Gazaway, Danny Ellis, Rodney O'Brien, and Kenneth Jenkins.
Dan will be remembered for his steadfast work ethic, devotion to family, and quiet strength. He leaves behind a legacy rooted in faith, family, and community.
