Obituary

Dr. Daniel William Earsa, 71, of Pocahontas passed away Friday, October 30, 2020 at Randolph Home.

He was born February 26, 1949 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to the late William C. and Irene L. Turecek Earsa. He was a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine who worked for the U.S.D.A. Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service. Dan was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and St. Paul Catholic Church.

He believed in family, church, and having a good relationship with his wife Pennie. They knew how to dance, and their life was a dance. He loved his children and grandchildren. He loved his church and was faithful to attend Sunday Mass and received Holy Communion. He was the son of a farmer and became a carpenter for his Savior Jesus.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents William C. and Irene L. Turecek Earsa; and a brother William Edward Earsa.

He is survived by his wife Pennie Rebecca Pepper Earsa; daughters, Selina (David) Ripa of Maumelle, Tracy (Jason) Hosier of Jonesboro, and Tammy (Greg) Lundry of Pocahontas; grandchildren, Jerod Lundry, Cassandra Lundry, Olivia Lundry, Alaina Hosier, and Pierce Ripa; brother, Mark Earsa of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 5, 2020 from 5-7 PM in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with a Rosary being said at 7 PM. Funeral Mass will be Friday, November 6, 2020 at 10 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Stephen Elser officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery. For those unable to attend the mass in person, it will be livestreamed on St. Paul Catholic Church's Facebook page.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Paul Catholic School, 311 Cedar Street, Pocahontas, AR 72455.

To follow the directives of Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, masks covering the mouth and nose are required for all persons in Arkansas for all indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to non-household members where social distancing cannot be assured. Those attending will also be asked to sign a contact registry and maintain a social distance.
